About the authors:

Barb Morrison is a non binary Platinum record producer, Top 5 Billboard dance chart songwriter, and recording artist. Their memoir-in-progress features their performances at CBGB, growing up in the East Village, compositions for film scores, and work as a producer helping artists including Blondie, LP, and Franz Ferdinand tell their stories through music.

The documentary of Michael Alago's incredible life describes his path as "a gay Puerto Rican kid from Brooklyn who went on to shape and reinvent the world's musical landscape," including in the 80's NYC club scene, then as the A&R record exec who signed Metallica and White Zombie and worked with Nina Simone, Cyndi Lauper, and Johnny Lydon, and more recently as an art photographer. He will read from his memoir, "I Am Michael Alago.”

Brian Belovitch’s memoir, "Trans Figured” (Simon & Schuster) traces his storied career as a New York City performer (including as "Tish Gervais, The Girl With Something Extra" in the 80's club scene), and his often-perilous "journey from boy to girl to woman to man."

Lisa Stephen Jackson’s one-woman play, "Trans Am," produced earlier this year at DC's Keegan Theater, is based on her trans journey, including as a transgender actor and singer in New York City and fronting Lisa Jackson & Girl Friday, a cult-favorite NYC glam band. The play has been reviewed as "intimate, hilarious, sexy, sometimes sad, but alway incredible engaging" (MD Theater Guide).

This event is free and open to the public. The authors will sell and sign copies of their books.
